We just received a spa and I'm still learning chemicals. I bought a Starter Kit spa, but it had nothing to increase the pH and the Gaza quick test says it is low. What can I To wear it? …… And my second question, can I put blue food coloring in the spa or there I can buy specifically to turn the spa water blue? Thank you in advance!
Ph is raised by adding sodium carbonate. You need to increase the alkalinity at least less 80-120ppm. You do that adding sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). Some of Bicarbons divides and therefore increase your level of pH (7.2-7.8 is be) at the same time. Make sure you also add calcium chloride to increase the hardness level of at least 250-400ppm. Now, your water will be perfectly balanced. Now to add any type of disinfectant you intend to use. Baquaspa as Erskine love Softsoak by Bioguard (same) bromine or chlorine. Do not put food coloring in blue, because it can stain some surfaces spa!
