Test my tap water with a test strip Spa, this result is good for drinking water?
The spa test SRIP "test for total hardness, free chlorine, pH, total alkalinity, cyanuric acid. (TH, FC, pH, TA, CYA.) What should be like my result Drinking water tap is safe?
Good question. Test strips are not very accurate, but they are very useful to give you an idea of the quality of your water. There is no reason why you can not use test strips to get an idea of what comes out of your tap. Hardness Total and total alkalinity have little to do with drinking water. These parameters are used to measure chemicals "stability" your water in general regarding the corrosion of pipes. PH should be in the range of 6.5-8.5 based on the regulation of the USEPA secondary contaminant. If it is outside this range, call your tap water for an explanation. Free chlorine is the most important thing you can test. Assuming that your home does not have a treatment system, water from the tap should have a concentration of free chlorine 0.2-4.0 mg / l. Leave your cock run for 5 minutes before testing. If you get a number higher or lower 0,2-4.0 mg / l, so be sure to call your water supply! Cyanuric acid is not approved for use in tap water, and you should not be detect any CA in your tap. Sorry for response to fire, but I hope it helps.
