Teen Party Themes

Teen party themes require a little more thought into keeping them both fun and a little more grown up. The teen years are those in between childhood and adulthood. Here are a couple of cool themes to make any teen happy:

For the girls – a spa theme.

A spa theme boils down to a relaxing girls day or night out. The idea is to create a relaxing spa atmosphere and indulge the partiers with pampering fun.

You can start with the invitations to mimic a gift certificate to a spa. You can create these on your own computer or have them printed at a print shop. Make them appear rich by using high grade paper and personalized with the details of the party. Have matching envelopes (invitation sized) and have these custom printed as well.

Decorate the spa area starting with the parking outside. Have some signs made that say “Spa Parking Only” -and create the atmosphere that it’s a real spa from the driveway. If you have a concrete driveway – color it with chalk by drawing colorful flowers and perhaps the words “Welcome to the Spa.”

Decorate the party room with soothing spa colors of pinks or greens or creams and whites. Play soft music, and have scented candles lit. Put out fresh flowers and make sure all the dining accessories match the color theme.

Serve a light menu, such as fresh fruits and veggies – more finger foods. Make the cake a spa type of cake such as a chocolate face mask cake.

For the activities give facials, massages, manicures, pedicures and make-overs. The idea is to relax and have a good time with the girls.

For both boys and girls…

A movie theme is sure to be a hit. This one takes an activity that most all teens love and makes it into a cool birthday party.

Make the invitations out of popcorn bags, or a mock- newspaper exclaiming that it’s the “star’s” birthday (make it look like a movie review) or a directors clap board made out of card board. Get creative, think Hollywood, glitzy.

Make the birthday person the “star”. Fix the party-movie room into a mock-theater. Have a red carpet that leads to the room – have the all the stars (party goers) walk up the carpet to the awaiting party.
