In the current issue of the peer review evidence after free medical & Alternative Medicine (ECAM) Scientists at the University of Albany Center for Functional Genomics, working with the restoration and Advanced Technologies (ART), the ratio of positive result of a series of scientific experiments recently undertaken basic test a novel, natural form of hair loss treatment, TS050508A.
Because chronic inflammation of the hair follicle is considered as a contributing factor in the onset and progression of androgenetic alopecia (AGA), the study investigators Sridar Chittur, Brian Parr & Geno Marcovici attempted to measure the activity of the test material by blocking key markers of inflammation using pathological representing a well-validated molecular assay keratinocytes of the hair follicle. Specifically, the research team found that the substance Test deleted gene expression of several inflammatory chemokines potentially related to hair loss.
In addition to anti-inflammatory TS050508A has been formulated with a subset of botanical derivatives, highly potent 5 alpha-reductase (5AR) inhibitors. 5AR catalyzes the conversion of testosterone (T) to its metabolite dihydrotestosterone more pathological (DHT). DHT is a well known trigger of hair loss pattern. Thus, combining targeted anti-inflammatory agents with potent inhibitors of 5AR composition test was designed to provide better clinical efficacy in monotherapy classic.
principal investigator of the study Sridar Chittur, Ph.D. has been at the forefront of molecular research creative works published from degenerative mitral valve disease (DMVD), transcriptional changes associated with oxidative stress in mitochondria. Co-author Brian Parr, Ph.D. brings a wealth of expertise in basic science project with a number of peer-reviewed papers describing new gene transcription and expression profiles of proteins in the Wnt and Frizzled pathways.
Co-author of the study Geno Marcovici, Ph.D. has been active in the area of hair loss for over a decade. His research efforts include the first published clinical trial successfully tested natural origin inhibitors of 5 alpha reductase in the hair loss pattern. Explaining the importance of validation of proprietary formulations ART Marcovici notes that "[a side] of HairGenesis ®, naturally derived hair treatments available on the market offer little or no objective evidence that they work. On the other hand, drug treatment based on work that is potentially serious negative side effects. This tends to make single HairGenesis ® proposal in the category. "
About ECAM
With an impact factor of 2.535 Reference cities, community international journal of evidence-based complementary and Alternative Medicine (ECAM) is widely regarded as among the publications of the most respected research in the category of the ISI and Integrative Complementary Medicine. The Journal seeks to apply scientific rigor to the study of medicine complementary and alternative (CAM) modalities. ECAM stresses health outcomes, while documenting biological mechanisms of action. The newspaper is dedicated to the advancement of science in the field of basic research, clinical studies, methodology or scientific theory in diverse biomedical sciences. SOMA is also noted as a newspaper which published the final version of each paper funded by the NIH to the public PubMed Central no later than 12 months after publication. These deposits are in agreement with the NIH Public Access Policy.

About the Center for Functional Genomics, SUNY
The microarray Core Facility is a component of the University of Albany Center for Functional Genomics and was created to provide infrastructure to enable the development of large projects that use DNA microarrays to analyze large wide gene expression. The Center currently employs two microarray technologies for analyzing gene expression: Affymetrix GeneChip arrays products and custom spotted cDNA microarrays. Projects developed by the Center have used microarray Affymetrix both eukaryotic and prokaryotic genomes. The facility is also currently developing specialized printed tabulations to examine the expression of genes in tissues of mice in an NIH funding Mutant Mouse Regional Resource Center.
